International Workshop on Multimedia Applications (IWMA 2019) is being organised by InterMedia (Internet of Multimedia) Research Group, in collaboration with Center of Smart Technologies, from February 12-16, 2019 at The LNMIIT, Jaipur. The theme of the workshop for 2019 is Smart City.

The workshop aims to provide a learning platform to industry professionals, smart city administrators and academia with exposure to challenges in multimedia processing applications in the context of a Smart City. The Smart Cities Mission of India aims for ‘smart’ solutions to provide core infrastructure, clean and sustainable environment and decent quality of life to its citizens.

IWMA 2019 aims to discuss the advances and applications of multimedia technologies like Image Processing and Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Human Computer Interaction, Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition, Internet-of-Things etc in the context of smart city initiatives. The workshop will focus on issues related, but not limited to, visual surveillance, heritage conservation and structural health monitoring.

In particular, the workshop aims to report high quality research on state-of-art approaches, methodologies, and systems in the design, development, deployment and innovative use of multimedia services, tools and technologies.The workshop will provide an excellent opportunity to introduce new multimedia processing and network technologies to students.

The workshop will also have related hands-on sessions and mini-projects using tools like OpenCV, MATLAB.
